Found the "bad boy" reverts. I'll be frank and say that a lot of these pages have too many categories.
Those recent reverts don't really need the anime character categories. The fact they have Category:Devilman: The Birth Characters on them and the fact that the category page already has the anime character category on them as the parent category just fills everything with redundancy.
For example look at this page at the bottom of the category bar: Last Dragonborn and the category page: Category:Skyrim: Characters. The category links on the character's page are minimal and cover everything that can be added to the subject. The Last Dragonborn is a character in the game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as marked by the category of Skyrim characters. The Dragonborn also has the category link of Hero describing him as the hero of the game. The dragonborn is also linked in Dawnguard: Characters and Dragonborn: Characters as he appears in those add-ons/expanisions. Not on there is Category:Characters because despite the Dragonborn being a character in the greater Elder Scrolls franchise, the subcategories of Skyrim (Dawnguard, Dragonborn): Characters cover it. Look back on the Skyrim: Characters category page and notice that there are hundreds of characters that would take a very long time to navigate through. To make it easier, subcategories are needed to reduce the load to the least common denominator. While some do intermix, not all of them have to or even should. Just putting every character on the category:characters is putting a bigger load on a page when nobody had to.
This wiki has hundreds of characters and pages to sort through. People might use the search bar more, but it's good to use the category bar as efficiently as possible, not fill it with every detail about the subject. Have a character in the Devilman Lady manga have it under the Devilman Lady manga character category that has the parent categories of manga characters. The category of manga characters has the parent category of characters. It's best not to have the character linked to the character category because it's best to organize it as focused as possible.
sorry, but I'm afraid we gotta turn on obligatory registration, at least for 3 months or so, it's too much of anon "jokers" right now, it's basically spamming + seems like already banned users try to avoid block w/ proxy (thus there still will be registered vandals, but they're easier to bash)
now actual vandals getting in, even on main page (it wasn't protected all this time?). sooo ...
I'm actually just realizing it but some of them need to be linked to the approriate page because right now they just lead to a blank page. For example when clicking on 'In Devilman Lady' under Anime Characters, it just shows a blank page instead of the "devilman lady (anime) characters" category page.
wikia recently f-ked up tabber badly and reworked it, so it doesn't look good in old default infobox (see: Miki Kuroda). I highly recommend to convert infobox to "mobile" version, since it uses <gallery> for images in tabs and can be customized in wiki's CSS + it easier for browsers (especially on mobile version) to load them. Here's what I've got w/o styles (i.e. wiki's theme/colors used, no size settings and text formatting, all default).
I can try to make it look like plain white table, that it used right now (thus I think it looks bad), but here are some examples of CSS customizations: x, x, x, x, x.
Oh yo hey! I think the latter of your two demo boxes looks gorgeous it would be great if you could do that yeah! (and maybe get rid of the age category, its rather needlessly specific for a series where most characters are ancient demons).
Would you be able to implement them or is it something you can do, i have to admit i'm not very good with the technical side of things here.
what you wanted to fix? infobox is already portable, it's just wikia keeps bitching about it for some reason
(it's Russian, yeah, header navigation was heavily customized too, before wikia made everyone having that horrible fat bar w/ waste title. but complicated screenshots being used as backgrounds isn't very good, I think)
Hi there! I wanted to reach out and see if you'd be interested in a wiki update. I'd spiff up the main and mobile main page, create a new background skin, and add a new wordmark. Let me know if this is something you'd be interested in.
I apologise for only now responding i have been absent for a couple of weeks. But it looks fabulous thank you. I do have two requests, firstly would you be able to revert the character infoboxes back to the previous version i preffered the layout, and secondly, unrelated to your edits, but do you know how to revert the gallery pages back to their inital design, i'm not too keen on the small boxed square look.
The character infobox change was me. I got tired of the confusing set ups and decided to make changes. Unfortunately, there were some unwanted changes too. However, I'm not going to revert it back, because now it will just create a bigger mess.
I get that you have some issues regarding the profile picture for Akira Fudo. But I think it may be better that rather than using a portrait from a spin-off, a mugshot from the main storyline might be better even if it's not the Devilman form. It'll get some pics in certain places so that the pic isn't avoided.
Are we looking at the same picture, because the user who uploaded the new profile pic came from the Devilman Lady manga.
But if you're referring to the Devilman pic I uploaded that might be the case, but this was made by Go Nagai using his character in his manga appearance. Regardless of what it was used for this is the manga character through and through. Details like cover art for the TV show are just trivial.
Maybe but it was the only colored picture I could find with the green skin tone. Not to mention where I gave the wikia coloring it's new look. Unless another can be found, I don't see anything wrong with it. It's not like it's using the full image this came from either. That does belong on the TV Anime page.
I was putting this off until it was official, so here it is.
A new Devilman anime is premiering, next year. But it's got a competent director behind it and it's going to be on Netflix. From what I could find, it's based on the manga. It's title is Devilman crybaby. There is also an announcement from the director Masaaki Yuasa and Go Nagai on the 25th so keep your ears peeled if you want to find out more.
