Pyunma aka Cyborg 008 is one of the characters from Shotaro Ishinomori's Cyborg 009 franchise and a supporting character in the OVA crossover film Cyborg 009 vs. Devilman. He is portrayed by Ayumu Okamura.
Backstory
An African freedom fighter, Pyunma was in a firefight in the jungle against enemy forces when he got shot in the crossfire. Black Ghost found him and took him to their base to be converted into the eighth 00 Cyborg model. The only 00 Cyborg to have combat training, Pyunma is a veteran of warfare and often applies it in battle.
Appearance
Pyunma has a blond crew cut and wears a red double breasted men's military uniform with a high collar, gold buttons, a yellow scarf and black boots with a gun holster around the waist that holds his Super Gun.
Powers and Abilities
008 was designed to be an anti-naval unit, able to swim to great depths and outmaneuver any boat or submarine.
- Superhuman Swimming and Durability: Pyunma was cybernetically modified to dive to depths of 10,000 meters and withstand crushing oceanic pressure. His feet are equipped with high speed propellers that allow him to move fast in the water and his lungs have been modified to allow him to breathe underwater as well as on land.
- Combat Training: Even when not in the water, Pyunma's fighting capability is formidable due to his past experience as a freedom fighter.
Personality
A serious individual, Pyunma is determined and strong willed. He will support his team any way he can and pilots the Dolphin, their amphibious submarine aircraft.

- Pyunma is believed by western manga fans to historically be the first black superhero in the world, beating out Marvel's Black Panther by 3 years. (Pyunma debuted in 1964 and T'Challa in 1966)
